Case Study – Folwark Ruchenka
Client
Folwark Ruchenka – a nature-surrounded event venue near Warsaw, run by Marcin and Lena. Known for its unique atmosphere, this place hosts weddings, private events and retreats in the middle of green Polish countryside.
Goal
Redesign an existing website that, while SEO-optimized and content-rich, no longer reflected the aesthetic values of the place. The goal was to keep the site’s strong position in Google while creating a design that truly captures the beauty and spirit of Folwark Ruchenka.
Challanges
The existing website was built in Elementor, which made optimization harder and bloated the structure.
The visual feel didn’t align with the refined, nature-based atmosphere of the venue.
While the content worked for SEO, it lacked visual hierarchy and clarity.
The structure needed refreshing and future-proofing, including functional updates and space for a blog.
My Approach
When Marcin first reached out to me, he already had a rough concept for the homepage’s hero section. We used that as our base. From there, we worked closely together to design every section, focusing on both structure and emotion.
I rebuilt the entire website from scratch using the native WordPress block editor (Gutenberg), which allowed for better performance and long-term flexibility. We went with a serif-based editorial style, inspired by magazine layouts and modern design trends. Large typography, clean spacing and intentional composition became our visual foundation.
We also refreshed the visual identity, introducing a rich emerald-navy color as a signature tone that now runs throughout the site.
